ABOUT USZIZZI'S SUSTAINABILITY STORY

Life's too short not to aim high.

At Zizzi, we want to build something better, so we can live better. When we say "We", we mean our customers (you), our people, our planet (the big one), and our partners.

And better? Well, better at being honest and truthful. Better at investing in people and communities. Better at taking risks to find out what works, so we can hand-on-heart say we’ve done our bit to build a better food business that sustains happy, healthy lives.

Because being a better food business means better opportunities for people and better care for our planet’s resources.

Basically, a better future for everyone and everything. We call it Planet Zizzi. Here for good times now and later.

BETTER SOURCING: BETTER CHICKEN WELFARE

Chicken is in a lot of our most popular dishes. We signed up for the Better Chicken Commitment in 2018. This is a set of standards for improving the welfare of chickens farmed for meat. We've made lots of progress, but there is still more work to be done. So, we've also joined the Better Chicken Business Network (BCBN), and we'll keep pushing.

We've also partnered with NGO Compassion in World Farming to create a full transition roadmap for our supply chain.

BETTER SOURCING: RESPONSIBLE SUPPLY CHAINS

We want to work with suppliers who share our high standards. Responsible sourcing sits at the heart of how we work. It affects how we support our teams, our suppliers and their communities.

Zizzi joined forces with Sedex in 2025. Working with a global leader in supply chain sustainability will support us in three key areas:
- understanding and addressing supply chain risks
- driving meaningful sustainability and fair labour practices
- transparent, responsible sourcing

BETTER SOURCING: LOWER CARBON CHEESE

We use a lot of cheese at Zizzi. So we're working with dairy farmers and producers to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Our mozzarella supplier began their sustainability journey a couple of years ago and has reduced their cheese carbon footprint by 14%. Now, as part of the Dairy Action Group, we have better conversations about where we can make the biggest difference.

BETTER EATING: SAFE & INCLUSIVE DINING

Everyone deserves to feel relaxed and confident when they dine with us. That’s why we are committed to creating a safe, inclusive experience for guests with allergies to enjoy great food with genuine peace of mind.

BETTER EATING: PARTNERING TO #MAKEALLERGYHISTORY

We've entered a four-year partnership with the UK's food allergy charity, The Natasha Allergy Research Foundation, to help #MakeAllergyHistory.

And we've stepped up our allergen processes. We've got Allergen Management audits. They're not just about measuring compliance, but helping our team be really clear on how they can prevent incidents.

We’ve also introduced supplier ‘may contain’ warnings in line with industry guidance. This gives hypersensitive customers greater transparency and reassurance.
